As the title suggests, I’m restarting my fitness journey. Truth be told, I have always struggled with my weight. For as long as I can remember, I always told myself that ‘by summer, I’ll have a better body.‘ I’ve been so close to staying truth to those words.
A few years ago, I lost a huge amount of weight but I wasn’t healthy. I didn’t have any fruits or vegetables. I didn’t do any workout. I just ate once a day. I was skinny but at a cost. Eventually after being forced to see a doctor, I put my weight back on very unhealthily.
The second time was in 2013 and this time, I did it right. I lost close to 10lbs (my aim was to lost 20lbs) by eating moderately right and doing at home exercises such as Insanity and T25. I was so close but then I was hospitalised because of my appendix. That operation took a massive toll on me and I couldn’t work out for months on end and decided to eat very unhealthily again so therefore I put my weight back on again.
Now here we are, the third time. You know what they say about the third time being the charm?, I think this just might be it.
I’ve been working out for 2 weeks now and I’ve lost 2.2lbs so far and maybe 2 inches off my waist. I say maybe because I didn’t start my ‘before’ waist measurement until last week so I might have lost more, who knows!
My workouts for the past 2 weeks have been random at most. Sometimes I do a 40 minutes workout from Pop Sugar or a full body blast from YouTube or randomly do Level 1 of the 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels.
I haven’t had a steady workout routine which I feel is rendering me so yesterday, I started the 21 day fix which is another workout DVD from Beachbody. I’m a massive fan of beachbody DVDs because they really work! The 21 day fix is great for beginners or those who need help with portion control.
If there’s one thing I hate, it’s being told to do something one way when my way works perfectly for me so therefore I will not be using the 21 day fix portion control kit. I also hate calories counting so that’s out. I am basically using the 21 day fix for the workouts and to have more stability and just by doing the first day, it can really build up a sweat. The challenge will be completed on the 11th of February so wish me luck!
I try my best to consume around 1500 calories but as I said better, I hate calories counting so I hope I’m getting that much. Another thing I hate is vegetables so to bypass having to put them in my mouth, I blend them up with some fruits and treat that as a drink to my protein meal.
I’ve been drinking home made green smoothie (recipe coming soon) for the past 12 days and I couldn’t be more happier. My body feels so much better because the insides have been cleaned out. My skin is looking much much better as well. I do still eat white rice and pasta but in smaller portions, I also have my protein such as eggs or chicken (not a big fan of fish). I also consume 8 cups of water each day and have cheat meals on Saturdays.
My workout active wear is from Missguided’s new active wear. I currently use the sports bra and shorts pictured above. I don’t recommend the sports bra if you’re a busty person like me. You can purchase my workout wear and more by clicking the picture above.
So there you have it, my small (ha) dairy entry to celebrate not giving up on this journey of mine.
